From Cardboard to Custom Plywood Display – How We Helped a Client Develop a Better Product Display

A few years ago, we received an inquiry from a European client who was looking for a better way to display their products.

Previously, their displays were made from cardboard. While cardboard was inexpensive, it was not durable and did not match the quality of their products. They wanted to upgrade to a wooden display, but they were not sure which material would work best.

The client mentioned acrylic as a possible option, but they also wanted the display to remain lightweight because the products being displayed were small and light.

After discussing the requirements, we recommended thin plywood (3–4 mm) as the most suitable material. Plywood is strong, lightweight, and cost-effective, making it ideal for custom product displays.

Since the client was not familiar with plywood, we first sent them a sample piece of plywood so they could check the material quality before moving forward.

After confirming the material, we started the sampling process.

The first sample was completed within one week. When the client received it, they were satisfied with the material and overall structure, but they wanted to refine the size and layout.

Over the next few weeks, we produced four different samples, adjusting the dimensions and improving the design each time. This process allowed us to make sure the display would function perfectly for the client's products.

Once the final sample was confirmed, we moved into production.

The project went smoothly from sampling to shipment, and three months after the first order, the client placed another order with us.

For us, this project is a great example of how a simple idea can be turned into a practical and well-designed product through collaboration between client and manufacturer.
